There is nothing more irritating then having to dig through your closet looking for your favorite pair of shoes. Then by the time you find them you are either late to where you are going or can only find one shoe. That is why I feel as though closet organization is such an excellent idea.
There are a lot of simple and cheap ways that you can organize your closet to save yourself time from endless digging. Not only does being organized save time, but it also saves stress and we have enough stress in everyday life that being unorganized should not play an extra role in.
The first and most important rule to organization is to throw away or donate unused items in your closet. If you have not used or worn something in over 12 months it is time to toss it. Plastic bins or totes are an inexpensive and excellent way to organize just about anything, from ties to shoes you can effortless organize in a matter of just a few moments. Hanging closet organizers are also a fast means to organization if you do not use all of your closet rod. You can also purchase these to hang on to the back of your closet door, thus utilizing that extra closet space that you never realized you had.
These are great because you can use them not only for shoes, but also for those belts and scarves that are everywhere but never can find. Wire shelving that is adjustable is also an excellent idea, especially for a child’s room because as your child grows you can move these shelves around as need be. If you are an adult simply raising your closet rod will make room to add another rod thus quickly doubling your space. If you have a lot of bulky sweaters, you can store these in a linen lined basket. Be sure to add a nice scented dryer sheet between each sweater to keep them smelling fresh for longer.
Remember that just about anything you use to organize in your home, can be used inside your closet as well, so look around for crates, baskets etc lying around and you will quickly and effortlessly just saved yourself time, money, and stress.
