Electric lawn mowers are becoming very popular these days, and you are getting a lot of very good electric lawn mowers from a lot of different brands. Still-some people still prefer gas lawn mowers. When you are out shopping for a new lawn mower, you must make the decision – electric or gas?
Your decision on which type of lawn mower to buy will be based on your specific needs, and only then can you make a decision on which type to buy. In order for you to make an informed decision here are the main differences between the two:
The power source is the most obvious difference between the two. Gas powered lawn mowers usually have a two or four stroke engine while the electric lawn mower uses electricity.
In some cases electric lawn mowers are more convenient, because they do not have the hassle of an old gas lawn mower that does not want to start. A gas powered lawn mower are also quite a lot more powerful than the electric counterpart, but most electric lawnmowers have more than enough power to mow a normal and large lawn
A gas lawn mower is not limited as far coverage is concerned. It can mow as long as there is petrol in it. Most electric lawn mowers are limited to the length of the electric cord, and you can only cover as much lawn as the length of the cord allows. You also get electric lawn mowers that run on rechargeable batteries that can cover a third of an acre on one charge
Taking all these factors in consideration you can make a decision if you want a gas or electric lawn mower. If you have very large areas to mow, or have grass that are very long and tough to mow then a gas powered version will be the better one. If you have a normal lawn that you want to mow once or twice per week then an electric lawn mower will be better.
