First Communion Gifts for Boys

When it comes to this time of the year, many catholic children from around the world, embark on the First Reception of the Eucharist, or otherwise known as the First Holy Communion. It is an important occasion in the catholic calendar and is one of the seven Sacraments that leads you to be accepted by God. For girls, there are many gifts that they receive from jewelry to teddy bears, but many parents and grandparents find it hard to find appropriate boys First Communion gifts.

There does exist however, a wide range of gifts that are perfect for giving to young boys on this holy occasion. Lets take a look at the most common and popular ones, so that you as a god parent, parent or grandparent, can ensure that the boys are not left out on this special occasion.

  • First Communion photo frames are one of the most common gifts to give to boys, as they are gender neutral and many designs are made especially to be more masculine looking. A photo frame, or even a photo album makes a perfect First Communion gift, as the child can place the frame in their bedroom or the family room, where it will always be looked at and remembered.
  • Another gift that is wonderful for boys is a First Communion medal that features the chalice and or other religious symbols, along with the words “First Communion”. Boys like these medals that can be worn under their shirts and they can even be engraved with their name and date of the event, to make it more personalized.
  • First Communion wall crosses are also another gift suitable for boys. The crosses are made from wood, usually oak and are embellished with a metal plaque in the center featuring the First Communion. This makes a great present that the boys will appreciated and can be placed in the bedrooms for them to pray towards each night.
