Is permanent make-up worth it?

by admin on June 29, 2010

One of the first questions that many people ask about permanent make-up is how natural is it going to look on my skin? I suppose most people ask this as normal tattoos are designed to look anything but natural. However in most cases permanent make-up looks much more natural than traditional make-up if it is has applied in the right way. Another question that people have is just how permanent is it? The answer is that it will depend on the depth of the needle and also how well you take care of your skin as sun damage and even smoking can have an effect on the quality of the result over time.

One of the most common applications for permanent make-up is to replace eye-liner since it is probably the most difficult make-up effect than your average woman has to do. Also if you do not have steady hands or are advancing in years then this could be the ideal solution for you. Obviously the person applying the tattoo needs to be very skilful as you’re going to be looking at the result for a long time. Another main reasons people are choosing this procedure rather than the more traditional daily application is that many people are allergic to the chemicals in modern make-up and often this means they don’t have to wear any on a daily basis at all.

The healing process is similar to getting a normal tattoo in that takes between five and seven days from swelling to go down and the colour to appear more natural. However I feel this is a small price to pay for years of perfection. It is true that some additional appointments may be required to touch up or even re-colour the initial application however it is rare and even so in most cases can be done in under half an hour.

As you can see there are good reasons why so many women are undertaking this new and exciting procedure however it may not be for everyone so please check with your local qualified beauty salon before taking the plunge.
