The Lenovo ThinkPad R51 received mixed reaction when it was introduced into the market. At the time it was however a good laptop that had a variety of useful features. In this article we will discover some of the features of the thinkpad r51, and hear some costumer reviews.
First we will start be looking at the specifications of the R51 ThinkPad. Of course at the time it was a good buy with fairly recent technology, but in today’s computer market, the thinkpad is best as a second laptop. It has an Intel Mobile Pentium Processor, and options of hard drive space from 20 GB all the way to 80 GB. It also comes with a Lithium Ion battery in both 6 cell and 9 cell, and security chip. This laptop was configured to XP windows.
Customers of the think pad had many good things to say about it. One customer called it the Rolls Royce of laptops. That’s a pretty high complement. Others noted that since the technology of the day called for a laptop in most technical jobs, the think pad was a great deal but not one you would want to sink a lot of heavy programs into. With little hard disk space and even smaller RAM it would not be able to hold under the weight of heavy programming.
Some gamers found the computer a little too slow for their liking, but they still concluded that it was a great mainstream laptop with good features. The ThinkPad features technology that was brilliant for its time. It may not have been one of the laptops with better performance, but it certainly did a good job at satisfying its everyday office customers.
Today you can buy a used or refurbished Lenovo ThinkPad R51 for about two to three hundred dollars.
