If you decide that you would like to get rid of your unwanted hair permanently, one of the first things you discover is that electrolysis and laser hair removal are your only options. With very little further investigation, you will see that both these processes involve quite a bit of expense and that you have to attend a number of (and sometimes many) sessions at a salon or hair removal clinic to resolve your unwanted hair problems.
If either the cost or the time involved are a problem for you, there is the possibility of treating yourself at home with an electrolysis machine. Whether it is worth buying one depends very much on two things : which machine you buy and your level of patience and persistence.
Hair removal by electrolysis is a tricky process no matter what you do but some machines are never going to work. That is because the technology behind the machine is flawed. Into that category, you can put all machines that are supposed to work by grabbing the hair with electronic tweezers, for example. For electrolysis to work, you have to get at the root of the hair with a probe.
Another clue to a useless machine is that a system is “pain free”. Hair roots are right next to nerve endings in your skin, so if you are killing the root, you are going to feel it. In this case, a little pain is a good thing.
The good machines work exactly like professional electrolysis which is itself a little bit “hit and miss”. This is where patience and persistence comes in because you have to treat the hair at the right stage of growth, with just the right current and in just the right place. With a bit of practice and treating individual hairs perhaps several times (just like you would experience with professional electrolysis) you will be able to get rid of hair for good. If you have the determination to do this an electrolysis machine may be worth buying, otherwise save your money because you will give up before you have any lasting results.
